id probably take over the penguins in the late 80's after the drafting of Mario and build the team as close to real life as they went but trying to pick up some more vital pieces here and there, maybe try to keep jagr around instead of the penguins going through their fire sale era of the late 90 early 2000's
maybe take control of the oilers and maybe try to lure mike bossy away from the islanders because either way if you are running the oilers and have gretzky or messier, adding bossy to that team would have been killer. or with the oilers take them as they are now and see how thy develop with their young core of forwards, then maybe trade one away to get the top defense/goalie they will need to win a cup
and maybe try my hand in running the maple leafs and see if i can have more success than their management has not had since their last cup win, maybe i wont give up that number 2 pick for kessel and then draft seguin
actually, there are a lot of scenarios and teams of the ages to take control of to see how things go, heck i may even take a stab at running the flyers...
