Speaking of assuming the most laughable case, this is a gross exaggeration of what people are saying. I can't read every post in this thread because I'm an avid user of the ignore function, but it's a huge overstatement to say the anti-graphics crowd is saying OOTP would become an arcade game with a controller. Just because a vocal few may say that doesn't mean that's the majority opinion of all users who aren't interested in graphics. A big problem with hot-button issues on these boards is that a opinions of a few outspoken members are assumed to be the opinions of some kind of majority, and that's just not true pretty much all the time.
Markus said YESTERDAY that any addition of graphics would be an option in the game, so anyone not interested in graphics (myself included), can just not use them. And if you read closely, that will satisfy a lot of people (myself included) who voted no in the other thread.
