In RBI Baseball and other graphics-oriented computer baseball games doesn't the results engine calculate the basic play result, which is then modified by the physics/visualization engine?
Think about that for a minute.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.
