By the "1.44 version" you probably mean a download link recommended for dial-up modems? If you are having trouble getting the complete download of the OOTP4 install file then clear your internet browser cache. I'm not sure what it is on Nutscape but IE it's TOOLS --> Internet Options --> Delete temporary internet files. Also, if you have downloaded the file anywhere else on your hard drive (like using "Save as" or saving to a particular folder) delete the old incomplete download before trying to download it again.
Maybe some other tech savvy posters can describe why some browsers and/or operating systems seem to save these incomplete downloads and fool the computer into thinking it has a complete file.
