I made a thread on the 13 boards that didn't catch any momentum, BUT when a player starts to play a new position, he should quickly get to the point where he is passable. (assuming it isn't a catcher moving to centerfield, but rather a left fielder to right field, etc...) But still take a whole season to max out his rating there. If I decided to play Mike Trout in left field, he shouldn't be a 1 for the first month.
I also wish position ratings would degenerate, and then be built back up with playing time there. If a player has been at second exclusively for 5 years, he shouldn't still have the same rating at shortstop over those five years. Then, after, say 20 games (depending on intelligence/work ethic/whatever, it could be more or less) he is back to this optimal rating at that position.
EDIT - Or what Kingcharles said earlier.
