Hawks' Michael Acclaimed Pro Cup MVP
The top winner in the IPA this season David Michael, didn't stop after 26 victories in the regular campaign, he kept right on chalking up more victories in the playoffs and pitched the North Hills Hawks to the Pro Cup championship with 7 more wins. Michael tied Errol Gaudet of the Rolling Hills Reds for the most postseason wins. Gaudet led the Reds to the title in 2029. In the Finals, Michael won games one and four. For his very impressive postseason performance Michael was voted the IPA Pro Cup Most Valuable Player. He posted a 7-0 mark in 8 starts and registered an outstanding 1.96 ERA. Michael had 5 complete games. Two other players received support in The Islandian Times poll, Michael's teammate Adam Thurgood, was the second-highest votegetter and Crystal Lake's standout catcher Stan Stanek finished third in the balloting.
Thurgood had a wonderful postseason with a .432 batting average in 20 games, 7 doubles, 5 home runs, 16 runs batted in and 15 runs scored. In a losing effort, Stanek walloped 7 out of the park, while driving in 22 runs and batting .312 for the runner-up Crushers.
