The Milwaukee Bisons were meant to be pretty temporary... I had always planned for them to be the Bisons for so many years, and then switch over to some other name further on up the road. But they messed around and became one of my favorites. Who knew?
I keep hoping for them to make it to the Championship Series, but it very rarely seems to happen.
They were inspired by the 1953 (?) movie The Kid From Left Field, which I like. I don't think the movie ever specified where its Bisons were based, but i thought Milwaukee seemed like a good idea for mine, so I ran with it.
The Bisons famously had this owner, Broderick "Broad Street" Moody, who was always coming up with all kinds of ideas to drum up interest and increase attendance - some brilliant, some wild and wacky. Those ideas had varying degrees of success, but would almost always make things interesting.

Any particular colors on the Bisons? I will probably work on the Lions next then move onto the Bisons. It sounds like Moody had a bit of Veeck in him. As an aside, I remember the remake of the Kid from Left Field with Gary Coleman as the Padres' manager.
Tex, I really liked your Sea Lions' logo and uniforms, especially the way the sea lion hangs down.
