Fyre, I'll figure out a way to deal with it in the end. I simply can't replay a year or even a couple of months that I've already played before... it brings me no enjoyment. Next time I make up a league, I'll create one that's much less demanding resource wise, try doing a daily save, and see how it works out for me. Thanks for your help.
Anyway, I've spoken my piece and it's not my intent to come off as a troll. It was dangerous for me to post on this rant thread right after a crash. Most of you understand what my frame of mind was like, I'm sure. I'll move along now.  |

To all, sorry I ever brought this up. I know everyone here loves this sim and so do I. But to me my experience has been different with this version. That's all I'm saying. I guess this is why I rarely post.

OPW, I hope you return to this game, perhaps in a newer version and/or a different computer setup. I don't doubt your experience and frustration but I can only say that if your experience and frustration were more common to other users, you would be seeing many more "RANT" threads on this board. One final piece of advice: Look for a common theme in your "different PC's" setups that may explain this phenomenon. For example, do you use a certain, less well-known anti-virus program that may not do well with OOTPB?
KC, I am relieved that you are not a troll!
And I hope you will come back and post more in the future. Yes, I think the solution to your problem is two-fold: 1) Expecting strict adherence of short-term results to reality. This game does not actually know James Shields from a hole in the ground and, although the tendency for him to be good is there, you are 2) Overlooking the randomness and the need for longer-term simulation for results to approach real life. All said in my humble opinion, of course.
