The St Louis Cardinals have signed SP
Tyler Blandford to a 1 year, $1.5 M deal. The 36 year old Blandford was 6-10 with a 4.42 ERA in 25 starts for the Miami Marlins in 2023.
Cincinnati Reds Owner Jim Castellini has set his expectations for the Reds as being a better than .500 team this season.
The Pittsburg Pirates have extended 1B
Simon Rayborn to a 3 year, $24.0 M deal. The 28 year old Rayborn hit .302 with 5 HRs and 43 RBIs in 110 games for the Pirates in 2023.

Bart Whinnett, 23 years old, was 9-7 with a 3.99 ERA in 26 starts in Louisville AAA. He will start the season with the Reds in the MLB this season. The Reds got Whinnett in a November 2022 trade with the Tampa Bay Rays

George Adams, 22 years old, played most of 2023 in AA Carolina where he hit .260 with 14 HRs and 54 RBIs in 89 games. He is expected to start the season in AAA and should be on the 40 man roster sometime this year as is Rule 5 eligible in December 2024. Adams was signed as a minor league Free Agent in Dec 2021.

Kevin Walsh, 22 years old, spent most of 2023 in AA with the Rangers organization before being acquired in a trade in July 2023. He was promoted to AAA after the trade and was 4-3 with a 4.06 ERA in 10 starts with Louisville where he is expected to start in 2024.

David Colwill, 19 years old, split 2023 between Billings (R) and Dayton (A) last year where he was a combined 3-3 with 21 saves, a 3.86 ERA in 45 games. Colwill was a Free agent discovery in Canada.
78) SP
Pablo Hernandez, 23 years old, spent most of his 2023 season in AA Carolina where he was 9-9 with a 3.83 ERA in 22 starts. Hernandez is Rule 5 eligible at the end of this season. He was the Reds 28th round, 872nd pick in the 2019 draft.
