You need 5 starters, on any given day your SP is the most important guy on the field with no one to 'protect' him like a guy with 8 teammates in the lineup 
This move can clearly move this offense way out in front of the pack if the kid is who your scouts believe him to be....

Well, someone has to win all those Jorge Figueroa Awards after Jorge Figueroa is done, and we have to have an all-world pitcher to follow once he hangs them up. So, at absolute worst case, we'll have someone we know in Jorge's spot when he calls it a career.
