Travel. Costs for league travel were of huge interest, and the new owner in Alaska, as part of his negotiations, is covering league travel for a 10 year stretch.
All 6 Midwest teams are, well, in the midwest. There was talk of Dayton or Columbus moving to he Western, but they are natural geographical rivals, and hate each other.
The next expansion is likely to see El Paso move from the FL West to the CL Lone Star.
Which likely means some more changes, or additions of 1 team in the FL West, to keep it at 14 and a new team in the CL after El Paso would move. Boston is pushing for a franchise. Hawaii is the early leader to be the new west team.
As part of their franchise agreement Green Bay is open to move, and we can move them. Though the Michigan teams are farther "east" they both need to remain in the same division, again as geographical rivals, so GB could possibly move to the FL Empire, though all 4 teams there want to keep that division exclusive to NY franchises (dicks).
