Subject: Mid-Season Minor League Update

The following players from our farm system were selected for the All-Star team in their league.

Lexington (AAA), 54-12, 1st place:
• SP Edgardo Ordonez (age 22, throws L, 11-0, 2.03)
• CL Jorge Merced (age 22, throws R, 3-3, 24 SV, 2.35 ERA)
• C Bill Landreth (age 27, bats L, .284/.420/.490, 9 HR, 36 RBI)

Dayton (AA), 35-30, 3rd place:
• C Herman Dodson (age 24, bats R, .319/.414/.465, 6 HR, 35 RBI)
• SS Cipriano Viera (age 22, bats S, .260/.373/.525, 13 HR, 48 RBI)
• LF Lucio Borges (age 26, bats L, .284/.385/.586, 13 HR, 36 RBI)
• RF Don Green (age 21, bats L, .333/.422/.417, 3HR, 31 RBI, 7 SB)

Evansville (A), 37-28, 4th place:
• SP Donald Johnson (age 24, throws R, 9-3, 2.40 ERA)
• SP Rick Morrison (age 24, throws L, 7-2, 2.27 ERA)
• SP Juan Jose Rodgers (age 19, throws R, 3-5, 2.30 ERA)
• 1B Kyu-min Park (age 22, bats R, .284/.405/.485, 8 HR, 25 RBI)
• SS Wilson Hernandez (age 21, bats S, .320/.371/.488, 5 HR, 28 RBI, 8 SB)
• LF Dennis Brown (age 22, bats R, .318/.377/.537, 12 HR, 43 RBI)

This is a much better showing compared to the early years of the decade. The extra money poured into our farm system over the past few seasons is finally paying off.

All of our 2007 draft picks were signed to reasonable bonus offers (at or near slot) and have reported to their teams. The college players taken in the first four rounds were assigned to Evansville (A) and the rest will play for rookie league Owensboro. It is great to have them all in action quickly.
