I'll answer the pitching question, pitch ahead just means normal pitching.

Pitching around means you are trying to throw a lot borderline pitches. If I understand correctly, I believe in OOTP using this you'll less likely to give up a home run but more likely to walk the batter.

I'll assume you know what is intentional walk or hit batter.

When runners are on base, hold the runners means the 1st basemen will stand on 1st to "hold" the runner, in this case you are less likely to have a base stolen.
