Calgary Flames are still looking for a GM. We are approaching the halfway point of the 2014 season.

The Flames just squeaked into the playoffs in 2013 as the fourth seed, but were eliminated 5-2 in the first round by the pitching juggernaut that is the Colorado Avalanche. The Flames lost some depth players in the off-season, but the large majority of the core returned. Thus far this season, the team is fighting to avoid relegation in 7th place with a 22-29 record. But their pyt. record of 26-25 tells a different story. With a low payroll and some good young prospects, a new GM will have plenty of flexibility to reshape the team and possibly compete for a playoff spot this season with the right lineup moves.
