The difference between how I'm playing here and the Quickstart I created, is I've shortened the season, made the league smaller and improved pitching substantially. The hardest part of playing with ERAs in the 7s and stuff was how difficult it was to evaluate talent.

I think Arena Baseball is partially inspired by Twenty20 cricket in some ways, but until OOTP lets me shorten the number of innings in a game (which you'd think would be a relatively simple thing to do?) then we'll be just juicing the games on purpose like so.

Anyway, the premise behind this story is NHL arenas and owners wanted a game to fill the time. Indoor Lacrosse and soccer weren't getting it done, so they turned to the national pasttime and using their league's logos and suchforth, unleashed NHL Arena Baseball onto the world.

I'm still sorting out what the league alignment will look like, though. It'll likely be a 40-42 game season or thereabouts. Doing so essentially ensures that season HR outputs remain relatively close to a full major league season and the best pitchers (now that I've improved them) will be able to post ERAs somewhere between 2-3 runs per game. There might be some fluctuation as we go on, but...I basically like that setup.
