Despite lackadaisical ownership throughout the year, the New York Rangers were able to win the inaugural Gold Championship. Experts aren't even sure exactly how they pulled it off. The starting rotation ranked 8th in Gold and batting average was 7th. They did however hit a ton of home runs and have a phenomenal bullpen as well. Given the aforementioned flaws, repeating as champion could prove a mighty challenge. The good news is that the team's championship run and lack of extremely burdensome contracts provides a prospective GM with a healthy financial slate to augment the roster and prepare for another Gold title.
