1973 - Frank Robinson retires

Frank Robinson retired from baseball with 334 career home runs, falling short of his 586 real life home runs, becoming the 13th straight failure. At this point I almost expect the real life members off the 400 club to fail given the history. They get close, and come up short. Looks like Killebrew will be the next to come up short, with Willie McCovey slowing down considerably.

Ike Hampton led the league this year with 53 home runs. Hampton hit 4 home runs in real life in his career. Adrian Garrett appeared on the career home run leaderboards this season.
