Rookie League, finances, and ratings.
Hello, everyone. I'm new to the game. I've been playing it for a few weeks. Addicted, really.
I started a fictional ML. Eventually, added a couple of winter leagues and affiliated minor leagues. I wanted to create a small set up to get used to the games.
I tried adding an independent rookie league, without finances, and in the financial report page it shows all the teams with 9 figure budgets and high rated players earning crazy salaries. I chose the rookie level in the drop menu in league setup, and use financial setting from the 1800s, but it doesn't seem to work. The payrolls are higher than the main ML. Any ideas? I get the impression that I might be overlooking a setting or something.
When I apply the 1800s finances, then refresh, it shows the average payroll is very low, but it doesn't reflect in the teams' front office.
Also, there are players rated very high. I was expecting something in the 20s-30s.
And one final question. Using 1800s financial settings adjust the strategy settings to the same year. I don't want a 1 man rotation; I'd like something more modern. Do financial settings and strategy need to be the same if using historical ones?
I'd appreciate any help. Brilliant game, by the way. Can't believe I didn't get into it before. Might even start watching baseball again.
