LEAGUE LEADERS
Saturday, July 1, 2006
Charleston RF Patrick Timm was the Patriot League’s Outstanding Player in 2005, and he is a clear favorite to repeat in 2006.
He was Player of the Month for May and June, and he is challenging the CBA single-season home run record of 76 set by Akinora Ishikawa in 1999.
I always enjoy pointing out that OOTP trading is not as easy as it looks sometimes.
You recall a trade that I made last summer for pitching prospect Juan Hernandez. It looked like a steal at the time.
Hernandez still looks good, but not quite as good. Sacramento installed the minor league reliever that I gave up, Bill Ward, as their closer.
You can see Ward listed at #3 on the saves list so maybe the Outlaws weren’t so dumb after all.
