Inside the Astros:
• 1B Carlos Lee wants a 3-year, $15M/year contract extension. ROTFL
• CL Brett Myers wants to be traded to a contender. All in good time, my pretty.
• Best Hitter: SS Jed Lowrie (.322/.361/.530, 10 HR, 35 RBI)
• Best Pitcher: SP Wandy Rodriguez (5-7, 3.18 ERA)
Three players on the current roster have impressed me. They are LF J.D. Martinez, SS Jed Lowrie and 2B Jose Altuve. Martinez has developed faster and better here than in real life. It is a simulation and I expected some surprises, both good and bad. There are no obvious keepers among the pitchers so far. This staff is a disaster, and that’s before I trade all of the decent arms.
Next, I will publish the All-Star rosters for those that are interested in the performances around the league. Frankly, I don’t find the 2012 results all that interesting because there have been dozens of 2012 seasons played out on this forum already. I will be more engaged with the league environment when the scenario reaches 2013.
