The Detroit Wolverines captured their sixth World Series this year defeating the Providence Whalers 4 games to 3.

Terry 'Butterball' Moore won 2 games for the Wolverines, and lost once with a 2.36 ERA. Victor Ramirez hit .310 for the Wolverines during the series, while Alan Cooper hit .308 and added 2 home runs while driving in 4.

This was Detroit's second straight championship.
