The Providence Whalers ended up winning the American League by 8 games after the Baltimore Black Sox went 10-17 in September. The Detroit Wolverines edged the Chicago Pirates by one game and the New York Empires by 1 1/2 games in the National League, after the one game playoff.

Alexandre Alexandrim of the Cincinnati Cavalry homered three times in a 15-4 drubbing of the Blues. Alexandrim also won the American League batting crown after hitting .313.
Sixto Rodriguez of the Pittsburgh Rebels set the record for strikeouts per 9 innings when he struck out 11.39 batters per nine innings.
