Michael Herring reached 30 home runs for the year for the second straight year, finishing the month with 31 home runs. The 27 year old hit three home runs in a 9-1 win over Orlando earlier this month, and won the AL Batter of the Month after hitting .304 with 11 home runs, 28 RBI, and 19 runs scored. Herring is one of the better fielding third baseman in the league, already winning one Gold Glove. Herring is hitting a career high .292 this season, with an OPS+ of 147 so far, also a career high.

Kenny 'Basket Case' Wurtemburg of the New York Knights won the 200th game of his career at the age of 41
Alfonso Galindo of the Indians hit .364 with 8 home runs, 19 RBI, and scored 22 runs this month, and the 22 year old won the NL Batter of the Month Award.
• Chalk up another Pitcher of the Month Award for 29 year old Don Calhoun of the Baltimore Black Sox, who went 4-0 this month to improve his record to 15-4 for the year.
