Bout Summary

Tada, ready and relentless, outworked and out-powered Fujioka on her way to lose her WBA & WBC Silver titles before a crazed crowd at Yomiuri Bunka Hall.

After a sharp round one, Tada landed a short hook that dropped Fujioka onto her backside at the bell. Fujioka was up at the count of one and went back to her corner to regroup.

In round two, Fujioka rallied and launched her own onslaught, when three blazing punches sent Tada to the floor. Back on her feet at the count of four, she fought defensively the rest of the round.

Fujioka continued her asasult in the third, as Tada remained in a defensive mode. In the fourth, a left from Tada sent Fujioka to the ropes, and while Fujioka continued to give a good account of herself, Tada's jarring bodyshots began to take their toll.

Building a health lead, Tada started round eight with a strong uppercut and a crashing overhand right that connected to Fujioka's jaw. Then Fujioka connects with a blatant head butt, immediately a crevice was visible over Tada's left eye.

The referee stopped the bout and cautioned Fuijoka before allowing the action to continue. As the round progressed, blood flowed down Tada's face and she pawed at the wound to keep her vision.

Finally the referee called a halt and summoned the ringside physician to inspect the wound. The physician recommended halting the bout at 1:16, touching off a brief moment of choas as Tada partisans pelted the ring with beer cups, and at least one fan arrested for heaving a chair.

Fujioka moves to, 11-0-0 (7), whilst Tada suffers her first professional defeat, drops to, 12-1-2 (2).
