If they are good enough they will play right away. I have a league that has all 4 sports as baseball teams. Although the MLNFL & MLNBA both have a AAA many of their stars play in the 1st season, especially since their draft is only 2-5 rounds.
In my main league right now that has just AAA, i see real MLers that never even touch AAA, such as Chase Utley in 2003. Granted that was his RL rookie yr, but in a game with many levels of minors he could have played some minor league ball.
You could also delete some of the 1/2 - 1 star players and create more 3-5 star players. Competition should balance itself out and more players will make the ML from day 1.
