Bout Summary

Unbeaten Japanese speedster Tada, 10-0-2, turned in a lackluster performance, but managed to retain the WBA female Minimumweight Title and add the WBC Silver female Minimumweight Title on a unanimous decision over Mexican Anabel Ortiz, 10-3-0, over 12 dull rounds.

Tada had won the title against previously unbeaten defending champ Cho-Rong Son back in 2009, while Ortiz had lost a lopsided decision in her last outing when stepping up to meet the WBA & WBO female Light Flyweight Champion Yesica Yolanda Bopp.

Neither landed anything more than a probing jab in the first round. Tada didn't move much, standing flat footed, landing some nice short uppercuts to take the second.

In the third, Ortiz got up on her toes and made it difficult for Tada, hooks again deciding the round, with Ortiz scoring each time she found herself inside.

Tada dominated the fourth and fifth rounds with her jab and some good left-right combos. But Ortiz, rallied in the sixth after landing a body blow that had Tada retreating for the remainder of the round trying to avoid Ortiz's heavy hands.

Between the end of the sixth and the start of the seventh, it seems both fighters suffered some form of amnesia, how else could someone explain Ortiz's timidness for the next three rounds.

Ortiz sprang back to life in the tenth when a cross visibly had Tada hurt, sensing the need for a knockout Ortiz turned human windmill, yet Tada saw the round out and took the last two as both spent, turned on auto-pilot.

Tada moves to, 11-0-2 (2), whilst Ortiz suffers her second consecutive defeat, drops to, 10-4-0 (2).
