There are many factors as to why tour starters have high ERA. You leave them in too long, you take them out too quickly. You are in a tough division. etc. Not all players live yo to potential. Turn scouting on to 100% accurate and see what changes. I have a player who I edit his stats every yr and he still will only hit in the .250 5 HR 40 RBI range in 3 different leagues. In one of my semi defunct leagues. I played in a bandbox and my staff era was 4.13 avg the past 3 seasons, yet I averaged 7.8 RPG.

I'm doing a modern game, didn't know there were pitching modifiers. I typically just simulate the games and don't control them, but what's frustrating to me is that it seems that ratings have no impacts on the results what-so-ever. I sign these players to contracts @ high dollars (though I am quite frugal) and they never live up to previous performance or anything. My highest ranked pitcher (current - 59, potential - 68) and he's 0-7 with an ERA over 5.00. What's the point of ranking players if high ranked players don't perform to their rankings? every time, and I mean EVERY time I make a trade, the player NEVER gives me the results he had w/his previous team. I'm so frustrated with this game and it seems like no matter what I do, my players never put up good numbers. Adrian Gonzales hit 300/30/100+ two seasons ago and last year he didn't reach any of those marks, yet he's still rated as a 4-star player. This season he's hitting under .250 and on pace for only 16 HR's. I understand that it's a simulation and I have no control over what happens but something has to give. You can't just make a game that doesn't line up w/the team you put together. I have good players and the game doesn't care, just spits out whatever numbers it wants. I wish I never purchased this game and I would love to have my $$ back.
