It would be convenient if there was a way for me, as the GM, to inquire as to whether this player would be open to restructuring his contract, either by taking less money per year, or by backloading it, or by spreading out the money over more years (less per year). Essentially, it'd be a re-negotiation process where you'd ask the player: "Would you take less money so that we can sign more talented players and better our chances at winning a championship?"

I guess the point is, that it is not allowed in the real life game. I understand that not everybody plays that way so it could be a requested feature.
