Thanks for the reply. Went to Microsoft and found these two dowloads. Should I use the 9.0 if my system will support it? I'm running Windows 98 plus on a older Toshiba Portege 7020 CT. I think it's a Pentium 2, but not sure how to check.

DirectX 9.0a End-User Runtime
DirectX 8.0a for Windows 95, 98, and Me
