Game Summary- Another tight hard fought game in this series. Pitching dominated early as it was not until the bottom of the 4^th that Tino Martinez hit a solo shot for the Yankees which put them up 1-0. The Dodgers came right back in the top of the 5^th when Ron Belliard led off the inning with a solo home run of his own to tie the score. In the bottom of the 7^th the Yankees regained the lead on a run scoring double by Derek Jeter. The Yankees got one more in the 8^th on a Gary Sheffield sacrifice fly before Mariano Rivera came in the close out the game in the 9^th.

A run scoring single by Ramon Hernandez in the 3^rd, Run scoring hits by Brandon Phillips and Jonny Gomes in the 4^th, and run scoring hits by Scott Rolen and again by Brandon Phillips in the 5^th turned the game 6-2 in the Reds favor. The Phillies rallied to within two on run scoring singles by Matt Stairs and Jason Werth but the Reds put on an insurance run and won the game 7-4 to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Both teams scored a run in the third, the Cubs on a Derek Lee solo home run and the Phillies on a Chase Utley single. Aramis Rameriz hit a solo home run to get the Cubs within 1 in the fourth before another Chase Utley single brought the lead back to 2. The Cubs finally took the lead with 3 runs in the 6^th including another Derek Lee solo shot. Two more runs in the 7^th (on Daryl Ward and Cliff Floyd Singles) gave the Cubs the cushion they needed to win the game and tie the series 1-1.
