Two months into the 1937 for fictional MLB league.

Cincinnati Reds signed Adam Strouse in the offseason at age 35, the most prolific hitter of all-time left St. Louis after 14 seasons. Reds sit in 4th place but Strouse is making his record 6.22 million dollars a season and has every intention to purchase the Reds after the 5 year contract is up. The reds are valued at 33 million at the moment (Just a hair more than the contract they handed Strouse) and it is thought around the league that Strouse is currently calling all shots in Cincinnati as seen by hiring old time friend Joe Vickery (first man to hit 500 homeruns) as manager and old St. Louis pal, Gordon Starks (also thought to be 30% minority owner when the deal comes up in 5 years) as bench coach. The Reds are the only team never to win a pennant and the fans are all behind the rumors hoping that Strouse takes the reigns and calls all the shots.

In the meantime Ralph Meyers in only his 5th major league start threw a perfect game against Strouses Reds becoming the 3rd person ever to do so.

Ben Spahn, 2nd all time homerun hitter, retired mid season at age 41 after suffering an ACL tear and knowing he'd be unable to make it back this season.

Guy Levinson, the most dominant pitcher of the past ten seasons is pitching with an ERA over 5 on the second place Cardinals team. The Cardinals are surprising the entire league by playing tough ball sans Adam Strouse and without Levinson performing at a high level. The team was swept in the 1936 World Series by the Red Sox while Adam Strouse, Guy Levinson and Jasmin Dionne watched from the bench all being hurt in September.
