Ruth Makes History with Home Run
Wednesday, September 10th, 1919
If chicks dig the long ball, then they're loving Babe Ruth right now. The Brooklyn Robins' right fielder broke the single-season record for home runs with a blast at Robison Field. It was homer number 29 for Ruth this year. The previous mark was held by Denny Lyons.
Babe Ruth walked in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd and homered off Chief Johnson in the 5th.
Ruth on the season is batting .313 with 29 home runs. His totals include 71 RBIs and 86 runs scored. He has played in 111 games.
