In the league set-up you can select how the AI should evaluate players. If you select use according to RL stats relievers are less likely to be converted into starters. AI doesn't know names off course it only sees ratings. Still strange that they would turn a closer with a stamina of only 3 into a starter at the beginning of the play-offs.

I've seen this in last year's game too and it might be something Markus could take a peek at? Although the team that did that in my universe won the World Series, so go figure.
