I was there for both games and here is my mini summary.
Cespedes giveth and Cespedes taketh away. He'll still learning so we have to take bad with good, but oh my god his homerun Friday night was probably the farthest ball I've ever witnessed at the Coliseum and I've been going since 1987. And god put a howitzer on his right shoulder.
Suzuki looks completely lost at the plate. He had one good at bat all weekend.
Josh Reddick is going to be pretty good I think.
Coco Crisp needs to be traded ASAP for a 3B prospect and Cowgill or Smith put into left. The Mariners scored two runs on balls that someone with an average arm throws out by 4 feet. It is unbelievable how week his arm is. It literally looks like the ball deploys an invisible parachute about 30 feet from his arm.
Weeks is just getting better and better, on both sides of the ball.
Ryan Cook looks like a legit back end bullpen option.
I'm on the Brandon Allen bandwagon, but that being said, Daric Barton needs to get up here ASAP so that our 1B can put the ball in play.
Sogard should start at third until a better option with both defensive and offensive properties is found.
Should be an interesting season with some buzz around this team which has lacked for a couple years. We may not win a ton of games 70-80 but we definitely will be in a lot of them and may surprise some people. Now let's see how the back half of our rotation fares.
