Check your figures. Last year teams won 55% of home games. And that hasn't varied much through the years.

It's not an artificial factor. Ironic that OOTP includes such nebulous variables as 'Clutch Rating' or 'Team Leadership' and neglects a proven and quantifiable factor like Home Field Advantage.

It weakens the claim to 'simulation'.
