Best Off-Season
So what's the best off-season you've ever had? Not in terms of WAR, just explain why. I just had a pretty nice one myself.
Departures
a bad reliever retired
my utility guy retired (which I'm unhappy about, but meh)
a minor-league left-fielder retired
a decent 34 y/o reliever became a free agent (not that happy about this one either, but I got others)
a not-very-good 35 y/o reliever became a free agent
a not-very-good 31 y/o reliever became a free agent
my backup catcher became a free-agent
and I lost a terrible minor-league starting pitcher in a trade
Signings
a very good bullpen prospect -- 17 y/o
two very good relievers -- 28 and 23 y/o
a very good starting pitching prospect -- 17 y/o
a very good starting pitcher -- 31 y/o
an infield prospect I got in that trade -- 17 y/o
and (though this isn't technically offseason) I signed good players my scout found throughout the year
And WAR doesn't show how good this was.
