To: Mr. Otto Orcin, GM, Louisville Colonels
Your offer has been topped by a different team. I've worked hard to get where I am, and I'd appreciate something more rewarding. The Knights are proposing to give me fair market value, and I'd have to say they're my front-runners right now if I had to pick.

Mr. González,
Please see the attached offer sheet containing our revised proposal for a one-year contract at $7,500,000. We hope you will consider this offer acceptable.
The Louisville Colonels are poised to become the premier team in the CBA. Wouldn’t it be appropriate for you, the game’s premier pitcher, to be the starter in game one of the 2001 World Series? Please think it over.
