Bobcats Davis Cops 2nd Bat Crown
This season Beechwood right fielder Jojo Davis won the Ruthlandian Union batting crown. His .382 average led everyone in 2028. Davis' season stats included 187 hits, 6 home runs, 79 runs scored and 65 RBIs. This was the second time 29-year-old Davis has taken batting honors. He also led the league in 2023 with a .360 average. Davis is a career .336 hitter in 7 seasons. He appeared in 148 games.
Third baseman Leevi Viru of the Valka Blackhawks was the runner-up with a .367 batting average. Viru. just 21, collected 215 hits, 21 homers, 100 RBIs and scored 96 runs in 141 games. Winding up third was 22-year-old outfielder Pettis Pentleton of the Elnora All-Stars. Pentleton played in 143 games with a .365 BA, 13 roundtrippers, 57 runs batted in and scored 107 times.
Mahaska's Tuttle Top Bat In TU
The leading hitter in the Tycobbian Union this season was 28-year-old Mahaska right fielder Travis Tuttle, who chalked up a .366 batting average. Among his 185 hits were 44 doubles, 4 triples and 39 home runs. Tuttle also chipped in 132 RBIs and scored 113 times in a standout year. This was his first batting title. Tuttle is a lifetime .313 hitter in 6 seasons.
22-year-old Bubby Blackwell, second baseman for the San Alejo Montaneros, came in second with a .355 batting average, 12 home runs, 90 RBIs and 95 runs scored. Summerland's first sacker Mandu Purula was third in the batting race with a .354 average. The 29-year-old Purula batted .354 with 30 homers, 100 RBIs and scored 93 times.
