That's how the program actually does it in a fantasy league. I'm not sure myself exactly where the file is located at this moment but it would be just a matter of copying and editing the text file with the first and last names you wanted to use and then replacing the file in game. Might I suggest you rename the original file and keep a copy somewhere just in case you want to go back.
