Starting pitcher Brian Matusz picks up an injury pitching, while in the next inning Luke Scott had to be helped off the field. I replace Matusz with Gregg (who i forgot to warm-up, during which Matusz gives up another 2 runs) and Scott with Pie, who himself then goes and gets injured. The game is lost 14-6. All very well, but suddenly I've got a problem in the outfield. I don’t have enough depth in the 25-man roster to pick up the injuries (unless i put someone with a '-' rating in at LF), so I'm thinking I can move people from the 40-man roster to plug the gaps.

When I try it, it tells me the 25-man roster is full, so I guess I'll have to move players off that roster and into the 40-man roster to make way. But if i do this, can I move them back to the active without any penalties/restrictions?

In other news,: I'm really enjoying OOTP12 and learning all about baseball. I got me a copy of "Watching Baseball Smarter" by Zack Hample which helps a lot (apart from the bit about 'tagging', he's really lost me there). Following the offseason is very instructional too, I'm listening to all the podcasts in the car on the way to work and getting familiar with the players and the teams.

I've decided to follow the Orioles (stop laughing!) because, well, I liked the town when I went there and I like a team that has potential to be good, but which needs a lot of work! In real life I'm a soccer fan and I follow Aberdeen FC, a club from my hometown of Aberdeen, Scotland (a tenuous link there to the Aberdeen Ironbirds, the Orioles minor league affiliate) who have seen better days, mainly in the early 80's - just like the O's!

Any Orioles fans out there?
Also, anyone on your 25 man roster is already on the 40 man roster, so you can't "move" a player from the 25 man to the 40 man.

You can also move players down to the minors, some may need to clear waivers depending on service time, and move others up to the 25 man.
