Lem Top RU Rookie

The Valmara Vipers standout pitcher Teddy Lem is the recipient of the 2026 Ruthlandian Union Rookie of the Year Award. The 22-year-old starter registered a 19-11 record this season in 34 starts. Over 265 innings he gave up 211 hits, struck out 189 and issued 120 walks as he held the opposition to a .223 batting average and fashioned a 2.96 ERA. Lem led the Vipers to the RU North division crown. Valmara went all the way in the playoffs and took its first ever IPA Pro Cup. Lem was named the Pro Cup MVP by The Islandian Times with a 3-0 record and a sparkling 1.73 ERA. A great finish for a great rookie year.

St. John's Roger Lanier was second in the vote. The 20-year-old first baseman posted a .305 batting average with 20 home runs, 94 RBIs, 92 runs and stole 16 bases. He also won a Golden Glove and was a vital ingredient in the Crusaders fine season. They won the RU South for the first time in 13 years. Winding up third was Kilkenny outfielder Ronnie Roussell. He missed out on the batting title by just 2 percentage points. Roussell batted .344 with 20 homers, 81 runs batted in and 77 runs scored. Waleska's super center fielder Roy Hobbs was the batting champ with a .346 mark.
