Baltimore Orioles righty Jim Palmer has been activated following a stint on the disabled list. P Jim Severinson optioned back to Rochester.
The Montreal Expos have activated 2B Gary Sutherland from the DL.
Thursday August 7th
White Sox 2B Bobby Knoop has been placed on the DL following surgery for a fractured eye socket.
Friday August 8th:
37 year old Bob Skinner resigns as manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, he's replaced by 54 year old George Myatt
The Detroit Tigers have traded pitcher Don McMahon to the San Francisco Giants for a player to be named later.
The Houston Astros have purchased 26 year old pitcher Ron Willis from the St Louis Cardinals for $26,500.
Sunday August 10th:
The Oakland Athletics have activated pitcher Jim nash from the disabled list. Pitcher Vida Blue has been optioned back to the minors. In his first four starts in the Majors, the 20 year old Blue went 2-0 with a 1.83 ERA in 19.2 innings.
The Seattle Pilots have placed OF Mike Hegan on the disabled list with a pulled hamstring.
The San Francisco Giants have activated catcher Jack Hiatt from the disabled list.
