Yep, two storylines being future HoF'ers distinguishing themselves in the same season, one in which IIRC the BoSox were annointed champions (or at least had a date with the Phillies in the WS) before it began. Stuff happens in baseball, so I never make predictions like that.
The Yankees are playing over their heads given a so-so pitching rotation (Garcia and Colon filling in adequately for Hughes, Chamberlain, and Pettitte) and injuries to their older regulars. This guy Nova, though - I am really glad the Yankees did not trade him for Lee or anybody else. Yes, Ian Kennedy is now a 20-game winner in Arizona but Granderson came to the Yankees as a result. Everything has worked out well so far.
