Palmer Blanks Senators 7-0
Washington, DC- Plagued by recurring shoulder trouble since 1966, when he won 15 for Baltimore and then went on to become the youngest pitcher ever to toss a shutout in the World Series, 23 year old Orioles righthander Jim Palmer may finally have put his injury problems behind him.
Against the Senators on Wednesday Palmer was absolutely magnificent, scattering 4 hits and 4 walks while striking out 6 in a complete game 7-0 shutout in front of nearly 22,000 fans here in Washington's R.F.K. Stadium. The victory is Palmer's Major League leading 11th on the season against just three defeats, his ERA is a fine 2.60.
Behind Jim Kaat, Twins Win 7th Straight

They'll be given a chance to expand that lead on Friday, when they head to Oakland for a four game set with the resurgent Athletics.
Drysdale Returns For Dodgers
