The Red Stockings however have lost their second base-man John Butler to a broken leg. Butler was batting with an average of 1.18.
The lead batsman of the Association is Rockford out-fielder Milton Legere who has an average of 2.5. On the mound, Boston hurler Stevens has nine victories in eleven contests.
