The WBC has responded to claims by former super flyweight champion Tomas “Gusano” Rojas that he was threatened and forced by WBC President Jose Sulaiman to fight in Thailand Suriyan Por Chok Chai under very dubious conditions where he lost his title.

The attitude of Tomas “Gusano” Rojas is very regrettable

The World Boxing Council regrets that its former super flyweight world champion, Tomas “Gusano” Rojas, remarked some things regarding the WBC, due to the loss of his title, such as the fact that he was forced to go to Thailand, as the WBC does not force anybody to do anything that is not stated in the WBC Rules and Regulations; from former champion Rojas, the WBC did not even receive a thank you note for the numerous opportunities he was given as a challenger and as a champion.
Rojas traveled to Thailand to face a fighter who was ranked #13 in the Flyweight division, and reclassified # 8 in the Superflyweight division. “Gusano” Rojas went to such country because he received the highest purse paid in Thailand in the small divisions that we know about, $ 180,000 USD, tax-free, which were paid by the promoter; he also received the live TV rights in Mexico; he also received, without any cost, 2 ring corner pads for his own publicity; in addition the aforementioned facts, he received six airplane tickets, two of which were business class ones. And as if it were not enough, the promoter signed two options on the contract….. The WBC does not know about other conditions that were even similar to this contract which was exaggeratedly in favor of a champion, in the 35 years that Jose Sulaiman has been its President.

Sulaiman is a crazy nut case!!!!!
