Any way to change that? Automatically, or by editing the database I suppose?

Umm, well no player will put up his exact #'s from any given yrs. Baines hit .131 in 2001. I have had Baines tank as early as 1998. and in 1 league I unretired him til he got his 3000 hits, took until 2004.
But you can set recalculation for a 3 yr span or a 5 yr span i keep it at default 3 yr span. Now I know the recalc is mostly for defense and pitcher stamina, not sure how it affects a players offense. When you import a player from a given yr, you have several choices of what to base his ratings on. I tend to choose career totals. but you cn choose peak seasons and 2? other options. Just depends on what you are trying to get out of that player.
I match a lot of real players up with my Endor players that i dont have career stats for anymore.
Example Donny Druzbik i match up with Carlton Fisk. and I set his with peak seasons. since both are HOF catchers. I also learned a new trick, which is to clone the original player if I dont start from his rookie yr so this way I wont have say 1970-74 stats when Druzbik's rookie yr is 2008.(Fisk's 71-74 MLB stats would show up which increases the players career stats)
I play a mix of fictional meets historical.
But if you want good Harold Baines don't import 2001 he wont be very good vs say 1982-1995 Baines. (btw Baines is my all time fav)
