Perhaps we should factor in a rate amount, say, the average number of championships won per year, counting from the year in which a championship was first won by the club.
The Yankees won their first World Series title in 1923. The club has won 27 championships over the 88 seasons spanning 1923-2010. That's an average of one championship won every 3.26 years.
