Heading into a three game series against the Reds, I notice that Joe Morgan just went on the DL for a NINE MONTH injury. Perfect situation for an arrogant loud-mouth like Joe. So now there's more hope for my Astros. Gotta love this game.
Joe may have had a big mouth but he backed up everything he said. He was totally amazing...the best second baseman I ever saw. Sometimes people compare him to guys from the steroid era and it just isn't a good comparison. Like with Mike Schmidt. He was tremendous in his era but people comapare him with the guys in the steroid era and say he did not hit that many HRs.

Anyway, yes Joe could talk with the best of them. The year Sparky got fired Morgan missed 20 or 30 games due to injury and the Reds finished second to the Dodgers by 2 or 3 games. And the new GM fired Sparky. Always despised Dick Wagner for tearing up the Reds.
