I´m trying to get the same results, as everybody I guess.
I have read that some trying to setup Indy leagues as non affiliated minor leagues, but then it will have no financials I think.
My tryout would be to perhaps setup the Indy leagues (3-5) as Majors but with, like you say, lower players creation qualifier.
I of course running real life players and started this league in 2008. The amount of lower class FAs and some old-timers drifting along is ment to be picked up by Indy League teams (that I will at start keep empty).
I would keep the FA set to 1 year in these Indy Leagues, hoping to see 90% 1 year contracts so that players could get back to the Major Leagues shortly, if improved. Then I wonder if they sign a Minor leagues contract ??
Could one setup Indy Leagues without financial, in case they almost look likes affialated minors.
The financial issue is based on that the AI see minor league contracts as ZERO dollars, so the new Indy Leagues, in the AI eyes, is better with just a salary of 10,000.
I will keep drafts in Indy Leagues to 2 rounds with creations of lets say 39-41 year old players. They will retire shortly and most players created will come from the correct drafts in the Majors.
Better keep an eye on 39-41 players created as FA that will be none RL.
Delete will be the way to go I guess, every off-season.
